Maritza earned her B.S. in Marketing from Florida State University – College of Business and holds advanced certificates, including Using Neuroscience to Deliver Better Business Results from Wharton Executive Education.
Beyond her corporate career, Maritza is the founder and CEO of Maritza Marie, a fashion and footwear brand rooted in empowerment and individuality. She also created and hosted The Things That Matter, a podcast centered on mental health and sharing real stories that inspire and uplift.
Her passion for mental health is deeply personal. After losing a best friend at a young age and growing up alongside a brother navigating mental health challenges, Maritza saw early on how deeply mental health can affect individuals, families, and the people supporting them.
That experience shaped her commitment to creating space for honest conversations, reducing stigma, and helping people feel less alone. Her podcast was inspired by one of her favorite quotes from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.: “Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.”
For Maritza, speaking about the things that matter is more than part of her work. It is part of her purpose. Through storytelling, lived experience, and practical insight, she seeks to uplift, inspire, and equip people to move through difficult seasons with greater hope, resilience, and confidence.
